Backend EngineeringBackend & API Development
NotJuzApp builds backend systems and APIs: data modelling, authentication, business logic, third-party integrations and the cloud infrastructure they run on. Services are designed to be documented, versioned and testable, so the web and mobile clients that depend on them can keep changing without the backend becoming a bottleneck.
What's Included
The Engagement.
API Design & Development
REST and RPC interfaces that are documented, versioned and stable enough to build clients against.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions.
What is a backend API and why is one needed?
A backend API is the interface between an application and its data and business logic. It lets a website, a mobile app and third-party systems share the same rules and the same data, so behaviour stays consistent and logic is not reimplemented separately in each client.
How do you make an API scale?
Scalability comes mostly from data modelling and caching rather than raw server capacity. NotJuzApp designs schemas around real query patterns, adds indexes and caching where measurement shows they are needed, and deploys to platforms that scale horizontally, such as Cloudflare Workers and managed cloud services.
Which databases does NotJuzApp use?
NotJuzApp works with PostgreSQL, usually through Supabase, and with MongoDB. Relational databases suit most products because the data has real relationships; document databases suit workloads with flexible or rapidly changing shapes. The choice follows the data, not habit.
Can NotJuzApp build a backend for an existing frontend?
Yes. Building or replacing a backend behind an existing web or mobile client is common work. It starts by mapping what the current client expects, so the new API can be introduced without forcing a simultaneous rewrite of everything in front of it.
